Recent research, policy literature, and federal legislation
suggest that comprehensive Work-Based Learning (WBL) programs
contain three key components: the alignment of classroom and
workplace learning; application of academic, technical, and
employability skills in a work setting; and support from
classroom or workplace mentors.
At HPHS, we have developed a comprehensive WBL program preparing
students for the workplace. For more information on WBL,
you can review the research report from West Ed on their
website.
At HPHS, students graduate college and are career ready! We
have developed a Work Advantage Certificate Program that
will teach students the knowledge and skills necessary for
entry-level health care industry jobs.
