Our school district has recently deployed three additional
digital resources to students: Khan Academy (grades 7-12),
Code.org (all grades) and Open eBooks (all grades, Title I
schools only). Students will be able to log in to these resources
from any internet-connected device at home or school using their
district-provided account credentials or Clever badge. The
services are being deployed at no cost to the district.
Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a global
nonprofit organization that operates with one guiding principle:
Hold students accountable to the highest standards, provide
academic and social support, and they will rise to the challenge.
AVID’s kindergarten through higher education system brings
research-based curriculum and strategies to students each day
that develop critical thinking, literacy, and math skills across
all content areas.
EOP is designed to improve access and retention of historically
low-income and educationally disadvantaged students. EOP students
have the potential and demonstrated motivation to perform
satisfactorily at a CSU, but they have not been able to realize
their potential because of their economic or educational
background. The program provides admission and academic
assistance to EOP-eligible undergraduate students. In many cases,
the program offers financial assistance to eligible
students. Campuses tailor their programs to accommodate the
needs of their student population.
