COVID EXPOSURE NOTICE TO FERN BACON FAMILIES

Robocall Message

Dear Parent / Guardian of Fern Bacon Middle School,

You are receiving this message to inform you that we’ve had one (1) student test positive for Covid in classroom(s) listed below:

Mrs. Wenell, 1st / 2nd Periods, English / History 8

Mr. Tsan, 3rd Period, Math 8

Mr. Safavi, 4th Period, Science 8

Mr. Jackson, 5th Period, PE 7/8

Mrs. Johnson, 6th Period, Elective 8

The health and safety of our students, staff and community are our top priority. This notice is to inform you that an individual in your student’s classroom has tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the high volume of cases SCUSD is currently experiencing, all school exposures are being considered potential close contacts and are required to meet the quarantine guidelines listed below.

Date of positive tests reported: Friday, March 4, 2022

Below are the available options for this close contact exposure at school:

1.Fully Vaccinated Student - Masked or Not Masked: If your student is fully vaccinated or has tested positive for Covid19 in the last 90 days, and remains symptom free they are exempt from quarantine. They may continue to attend school. If you have not reported your student’s vaccination status, please provide that here:   https://www.scusd.edu/reportvaccine. Otherwise, your child will continue to be tested as your child’s documentation is not yet recorded in our system.

2. Non-Vaccinated Student Identified as a Close Contact or Exposed to Someone Who Has Covid: Any unvaccinated close contacts should stay home and quarantine for at least five (5) days after their last contact with a positive person. You must test on DAY 5 and return to school on Day 6 if the test is negative. Present your NEGATIVE TEST to your school office upon returning. CDPH is still revising their school guidance, so please note quarantine guidance may change. If you test positive, quarantine. If you do not test, you can return 10 days after the last person who tested positive exits isolation. Note-for student close contact exposure in school, modified quarantine applies if the student / family consents to Covid testing.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

-Students who have reported status of full vaccination may still have access to testing and regular testing is encouraged.

-Others in your household do not need to quarantine if fully vaccinated.

-Monitor your student for any COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days. If they develop any symptoms and/or test positive, keep them home, get them tested and notify school staff immediately.

-You may access free COVID-19 testing through your medical provider, Mon-Fri at the SERNA CENTER from 12-3:30pm or Albert Einstein Middle School from 3-6:30pm (on days school is in session), or at a Sacramento Public Health community test site.

Stay Safer,
