BEHAVIOR SUCCESS ASSEMBLY
The purpose of today’s assembly is to clearly communicate our expectations to be successful at this great school!
The same assembly, the same message, the same high expectations for our 7th Grade students, our 8th Graders this year!, who listened and proved to be a success. Indicators of success:
~19% ELA Average from feeder schools; left Fern Bacon at 37%!
~Last year our attendance was as high as 96.24%.
~Last year we had 142 students with Perfect Attendance.
~Last year, 94% of students had no F’s!
WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING FOR THE BATTLE OF THE BOOKS?
If you need a new book, 7th graders go to Ms. Smith in Room 21; 8th graders to check out a book with Ms. Johnson in Room 208.
Winter Dance

Fern Bacon PE Teachers Help Students Learn CPR
Fern Bacon Middle School students recently learned hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation in their PE classes, giving them the knowledge to potentially save a life.
Girls Soccer: 1st Place in the Gold Division
Congratulations to our Fern Bacon Girls Soccer team who won 1st Place in the Gold Division of the Sacramento City Middle School Soccer League against Sam Brannon. What a great season and an epic win!

A group of Fern Bacon students spent their summer traveling around the East Coast visiting Washington DC and other historical monuments.

Fern Bacon Winners in Middle School Soccer Tourney
Congratulations to the girls soccer team at California Middle School and the boys team at Fern Bacon Middle School for winning SCUSD City Soccer Championships!
Fern Bacon teacher named PBS 2015 Digital Innovator
Fern Bacon Middle School teacher Julie Del Agua has been recognized by PBS LearningMedia as a 2015 PBS Digital Innovator.
The program, which is in its third year, recognizes tech-savvy K-12 educators who are serving as leaders in the education technology space and incorporating digital media in classrooms.
Fern Bacon’s City Year Program Ranks Highly
City Year, a nonprofit organization that provides “near-peer” mentors to five SCUSD schools — Fern Bacon, Oak Ridge, Father Keith B. Kenny, Rosa Parks and Leataata Floyd — was recognized on March 18 by the Sacramento City Council.
During the City Council presentation, City Year shared that 70 percent of Fern Bacon students receiving targeted interventions from a City Year member improved to a 2.0 GPA or better. In comparison to 24 sister sites across the country, City Year Sacramento at Fern Bacon ranks highest in literacy academic results.
