Elective Classes

Overview

Fern Bacon offers many electives that enhance academics and prepares students for high school, college, and career. 

These are just a few of our Electives. Click on the individual programs to get more information. Elective classes may change if staffing does not permit offering a specific course.

Band Electives

Post

Beginning Band is a year-long class which is the first level of the band program at Fern Bacon where students choose and learn a brass or percussion instrument to be ready for Intermediate Band, Level 2.  Two school-wide performances will occur in the Fall and Spring.  

College Readiness Elective

Post

Students learn study skills, organizational skills, college level note-taking, research colleges, present at a college fair and take field trips to colleges in this elective.

Community Service Elective

Post

Bulldog CORP (Community Outreach, Responsibility, and Pride) is a community service elective. Students will perform various school and community service duties on the Fern Bacon campus.  

Leadership Elective

Post

Our Leadership class is an integral part of being AN EXEMPLAR STUDENT at all levels and building community amongst our student body.  You will be responsible for student governance, activities, and leadership on campus.  

Media Publications Elective

Post

Our Media Publications class is an exciting adventure in video media production.  This course produces the school yearbook and the weekly student Bulldog Bulletin.

Speech & Debate

This class teaches confidence, expression of opinion, and experience in public speaking.
